Last Year:

The Carden Nature Festival was a resounding success. Attendance jumped 16% to 325 paid admissions. An estimated $60,000 in tourist dollars were channeled into the local economy. 95% of participants reported they would come back and 99% said they would recommend it to a friend.

About 60 environmental experts lead over 100 tours, mostly in the field, covering a wide range of environmental topics. Fortunately the Carden Plain is a biodiversity treasure that allows this breadth of experience. As you may know the Carden Plain is one of Nature Conservancy of Canada's target conservation areas. They currently protect 7,000 areas in partnership with the Couchiching Conservancy. Their plan is to raise that area to 12,000 acres withiin a few years. The festival is a way of benefits to the local community through eco-tourism.

The Carden Nature Festival is held annually on the first weekend of June.
